Player Waiver Process

Connectticut American Legion Baseball

"Waiver" process

Many teams are if not already having try-outs for their 2026 season team(s). The unfortunate thing that happens is that some players get "cut" for any number of reasons.

When this happens, Conn. American Legion Baseball has a "Waiver" process.

In a nutshell, the "waiver" rule says that if a player MAKES HIMSELF AVAILABLE to a team try-out and does not make the team, that player can ask the head coach or General Manager for a "Waiver"

That signed waiver then goes to a separate office, where it is determined the NEXT CLOSEST team that player can try-out for.

If you have been "cut" from a team, please make sure to ask the coach for a "waiver" for and to notify the waivers office.

Looking for Website Managers

Looking for Team

Website Managers

Wolcott (March 7th) At the State Coaches Summit, Ed spoke about the redesign of the state website to align itself more with the efforts of the Social Media Committee.

"In order to support the Social Media folks, we are going back to the original design of the state website where Zones and Teams will be responsible for the content of their respective sites"

While Zone chairs will be responsible for the content of their Zone websites, Just as the Social Media Committee asked for team contacts, we are following that lead at the team level for the Legion website..

"It's no surprise that teams with better websites attract more players", we are looking to broaden that market.  If you are looking to try your hand at helping your team, please contact Ed who will get you started in the Social Media marketplace.
